Grand History x Grand Experience

In 2021, the Macau Grand Prix Museum launched after remodeling, presenting various interactive experiences spanning across its four floors.

During my tenure at Imagination, I had the privilege of working as a digital designer on the prestigious Macau Grand Prix Museum project. My role was centered around designing and developing engaging digital content that seamlessly integrated with the museum’s exhibits and brought the rich history of the Macau Grand Prix to life. From real-life size simulators that provided visitors with an immersive racing experience to captivating digital games that challenged their skills, our team aimed to deliver an unforgettable journey for museum visitors.

By combining historical facts, captivating visuals, and interactive elements, we aimed to create a dynamic and educational experience for visitors. It was truly a rewarding experience to contribute to the Macau Grand Prix Museum project and be a part of a team that pushed boundaries to create extraordinary interactive experiences for racing enthusiasts and museum-goers alike.

Consistency

To balance the vibrant and bold backgrounds, line icon design is used with bevel join and square cap. In special cases round join would be used to ensure correct comprehension of the icon.

Readability

Generally, icons are designed at 64x64px with 2pt stroke, effectively capture attention and improve readability. Scalability adapts to different screen sizes and unique design requirements.

Refinement

To enhance detail and reduce visual heaviness, the designs employed two different stroke sizes for icons with a lot of details, resulting in a more refined and less bulky appearance.

Touch Screens

The design scope of the project included the development of engaging and intuitive touch screen experiences. We created user interfaces that seamlessly integrated with touch screen technology, allowing visitors to interact with the exhibits and navigate through digital content effortlessly.

Diverse Displays

The work involved designing content for a variety of displays throughout the museum. From large-scale digital walls to sensor-based interactions and custom-shaped displays, the designs were tailored to fit the unique specifications of each display. By leveraging different display technologies, we ensured that the visual content we created was visually impactful, engaging, and enhanced the overall visitor experience.

Virtual Reality

We had the opportunity to design immersive VR interfaces, collaborating closely with the development team. I prioritized simplicity and effectiveness in the design approach, minimizing decorative elements to prevent overwhelming the users. The goal was to deliver a seamless and immersive VR experience that transported visitors into the thrilling world of motorsports.

Digital Products

In addition to the physical exhibits, our design scope extended to the creation of digital products that complemented the museum experience. This involved developing mobile applications, interactive kiosks, and online platforms to extend the museum’s reach beyond its physical walls. Our goal was to provide visitors with convenient access to additional information, interactive features, and the ability to engage with the Macau Grand Prix Museum even after their visit.
